What to know
- What size do I need?
- Two rules do the work: between a third and a half of your guests dance at once, and each couple takes about 4.5 square feet. A hundred guests gives roughly 35 dancing, which is 18 couples, which calls for about 15 by 15 feet. Coming up short shows far more than going over.
- Can it go over grass or sand?
- Over grass yes, with a sub-base levelling underneath, which is the normal case for a Miami backyard wedding. Beach sand is a different job and has to be looked at first, because it needs a support platform and the venue’s permission. Over a patio or concrete is the easy one: it goes straight down and it is the quickest setup.
- Is it priced by size or as a whole?
- The trade prices it by the square foot and then closes a total, because setup changes a lot with the surface. That is why the figure on this page is a "from": the same floor over concrete and over grass are not the same job. Tell us where it goes and how many guests, and we give you the closed number.
